Project overview
Highland Industrial Machinery Company WLL (HIMCO), under subcontract for AIC WLL, successfully completed the construction of the Marassi District Cooling Plant (DCP) in Bahrain. This project, valued at BHD 1.571 million, was executed over 11 months, from June 2020 to April 2021. The scope of work involved comprehensive Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services, including building construction, mechanical installation and piping works, electrical systems, HVAC, as well as fire-fighting and fire alarm systems.
The project demanded precision and efficiency to align with the high standards of the client, ARANER, Spain, and the end-user, EMAAR Marassi Al Bahrain. Challenges included meeting tight deadlines, ensuring seamless coordination of diverse engineering disciplines, and integrating complex mechanical and electrical systems. Despite these challenges, HIMCO adhered to the strict quality and safety standards required for a critical infrastructure project like a district cooling plant.
